My soul clings to you,Your right hand upholds me.
On judgment day, those who are not in Jesus will be condemned according to their deeds into eternal punishment away from the Kingdom of God. And in that day, the mouths of those being condemned will be shut; they will be unable to speak. This silence, this inability to speak will not come from being choked by the overwhelming power of God and his presence. No one will accuse God of using his power to oppress them and keep them from defending themselves. No instead, this silence will come from the overwhelming understanding that God’s judgment and his words are true, fair, and righteous. We will freely and without coercion silence ourselves. Those condemned will not speak, because there will be nothing to say. They will not be able to place any accusation against God or deny that any of his words have fallen short of the truth. We must be careful if we think we will be able to defend ourselves before God or have an accusation to bring against him. You may think you have a strong case, but in his presence your foolishness will be exposed for what it is and be so evident and so clearly true that you will have nothing to say.
